Design:

In my free time, I’ve been dabbling in contract work on the side and it’s been a really rewarding experience.  My focus, for now anyways, is on designing WordPress based sites for people looking to start their own site or give their existing one a face-lift.  I may branch out to other formats down the road, but that’s what I’ve been focusing on for now.

My aim has always been to offer these services at a very, very low rate, making it affordable for good people who couldn’t afford a “high gloss” designer in the first place.  I’m not looking to quit my day job, that’s not the point for me, I’m just looking to help good folks out and make their web experience that much more enjoyable all the while making some extra cash on the side.

My approach is VERY collaborative and I try to include the owner of the site in the design process as much as possible.  I find that by doing it this way, the owner gets a better stake in the finished product and, hopefully, finds the whole process more enjoyable!

Outside of complete redesigns, I also have done the following for clients:

• Disaster recovery projects (for sites only).
• Host provider swaps.
• WordPress upgrades (though with the advent of WP2.7 those are somewhat obsolete).
• Basic design work that involves simple site tweaks for folks who are already happy with the layout of their site but want to swap out some colors or a banner to their WordPress site.
